Al-Adan Hospital
The department was established in the 1980s of the last century. Located at the heart of the southern region of Kuwait in Al-Ahmadi governorate, it began with 3 clinics initially and with time the number of clinics increased to 25 clinics now which are still operational. These clinics are divided into general dermatology clinics distributed in Al-Fintas specialty clinic, Al-Fahaheel specialty clinic, and Sabah Al-Ahmad specialty clinic whereas the subspecialty (specialized) clinics are located in the main building of Al-Adan Hospital.
The subspecialty clinics are designated for specific dermatological conditions such as alopecia areata clinics, hidradenitis suppurativa clinics, nail diseases clinics, bullous diseases clinics, urticaria clinics, psoriasis clinics, and atopic dermatitis clinics.
Moreover, the main building houses special units, such as the laser unit, phototherapy unit, mycology unit, patch test unit, and dermatological surgery unit.
The previously mentioned clinics provide services for 80,000 patients annually. Additionally, the department provides high-level teaching programs for several residents from the Kuwaiti Board including dermatology, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics and for undergraduate students of the faculty of medicine from Kuwait’s University.
